PRO Group Distributors Attend Merchandise Committee Meeting

Atlanta, Georgia (June 7, 2006) - Distributor Members of PRO Group, Inc. met in Atlanta, Georgia, June 7 for the 2006 PRO Group Merchandise Committee Meeting.

Committee members from Blackstone Supply Company, The Bostwick-Braun Company, Horizon Distribution, Inc., Long-Lewis Hardware Company, Southern Hardware Company, Inc., and Wallace Hardware Co., Inc. met with PRO Group personnel.

Dick Frame, senior merchandise manager for PRO Group, Inc., said highlights of the meeting included discussions about direct importing opportunities and value-added services for retailers. "We also discussed preparing for the holiday season and promotions involving specific items in those areas," Frame said, adding that the group reviewed Target Vendor Programs for the coming months and discussed new products.

"The Target Vendor Program is a promotional program that involves manufacturers offering buying opportunities designed to gain retail shelf space," Frame said. Attendees also heard presentations from new vendors to the group and current vendors with enhanced programs.

The mid-year meeting provides an opportunity for participating Distributors to share best practices and trade business-building ideas, according to Frame.

Mark Foss, PRO stores director for the Toledo, Ohio-based Bostwick-Braun Company, gave a special presentation highlighting retail pricing strategies. In the meeting's segment on distributor best practices, Foss discussed the steps the Bostwick-Braun team uses to increase the profitability of its retail customers. "We have a two-pronged retail pricing strategy, including pricing for promotion and pricing for profit," Foss explained. He also discussed how the company and its sales force implemented a retail price shopping service. "This has proven to be our most successful program in years," Foss said.

The PRO Group Merchandise Committee will meet again in January 2007.
